Looking for a quick island escape from Pattaya? Koh Larn, also known as Coral Island, is the ultimate day-trip destinatio offering turquoise waters, powdery beaches, and a laid-back vibe just a short boat ride away. This full-day guided experience is ideal for anyone wanting to unplug, explore, and soak up the best of Thailand’s island life without the hassle.

8:00 AM – Hotel Pick-Up in Pattaya

Start your day with a convenient hotel pick-up in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle. Your guide will greet you and get you set for the day, sharing a few insights about Koh Larn and helping you get excited for what’s to come. It’s a short drive to Bali Hai Pier, where your boat awaits.

9:00 AM – Speedboat Ride Across the Gulf of Thailand

Hop aboard a speedboat and enjoy the 30 to 40-minute ride across the water. The views as you leave Pattaya behind are already photo-worthy, and the breeze out on the open sea is the perfect wake-up.

10:00 AM – Tien Beach Arrival and Relaxation

First stop: the stunning Tien Beach. This long stretch of white sand and crystal-clear water is known for being quieter than others on the island. It’s the perfect spot to lay down a towel, dip in the sea, or just relax under a parasol with a chilled coconut.

11:00 AM – Optional Water Activities

Feel like something a bit more active? You’ll have the option to try fun water sports like parasailing, banana boat rides, or jet skiing. Or if you prefer something calmer, take a glass-bottom boat ride or snorkel in the shallows for a peek at the vibrant marine life.

12:30 PM – Seaside Thai Lunch

Enjoy a laid-back Thai lunch at a beachfront restaurant. Expect fresh seafood, fragrant stir-fries, spicy papaya salad, and cool drinks served with unbeatable sea views. It’s the kind of meal you’ll remember long after you leave.

2:00 PM – Beach Hop or Island Exploration

After lunch, you’ll have time to explore more of Koh Larn. Head to Samae Beach for a livelier scene or Ta Yai for a quiet cove. Your guide can also take you to scenic viewpoints where you can capture sweeping views of the coastline and surrounding islands.

4:30 PM – Depart Koh Larn by Speedboat

As the day winds down, it’s time to head back to the pier and board the boat for your return to Pattaya. Watch the sun start to dip as you cruise back across the water, feeling refreshed and recharged.

5:15 PM – Hotel Drop-Off in Pattaya

Once you’re back on land, your driver will return you to your hotel. You’ll arrive just in time to freshen up and maybe even head out to catch a sunset cocktail or a night market in the city.

Travelers journal

I woke up buzzing with excitement, today was island day. The concierge had mentioned Koh Larn, also known as Coral Island, and I figured it would be a fun little trip. What I didn’t expect? That it’d be one of the absolute highlights of my time in Thailand.

The morning started with a smooth hotel pick-up around 8:00 AM. Our guide was warm, full of stories, and set the tone right away. We reached Bali Hai Pier in Pattaya shortly after and hopped on the speedboat. The ride to Koh Larn only took about 30 minutes, but watching the coastline fade away and the turquoise sea stretch out in front of us, that alone felt like therapy.

By 9:00 AM we had landed on Tien Beach, and wow — the photos online didn’t do it justice. Powdery white sand, water so clear I could see fish even standing knee-deep, and this peacefulness that hit as soon as my feet hit the sand.

We had a few hours to ourselves to swim, sunbathe, and relax. I rented a beach chair under a parasol, grabbed a chilled coconut, and just let the day unfold. The water was perfect warm but refreshing. I did a bit of snorkeling too, and there were actual coral gardens close to shore.

Lunchtime rolled around and we were taken to a charming local spot right on the beach. We tucked into grilled seafood, prawns, squid, and sea bass, plus som tum and sticky rice. Everything was so fresh, and the view? Unreal. I actually paused mid-bite to just soak it all in.

After lunch we visited Samae Beach, a quieter stretch of coast with a more laid-back vibe. I went kayaking for a bit (optional but worth it!) and wandered through some little beachside shops. It felt less touristy here, and more like a local hidden gem.

Around 3:30 PM, we regrouped for a final stroll through the island’s main village. There was time for a quick iced coffee, some souvenirs (I grabbed handmade coconut soap and a sarong), and then we boarded the boat back.

By 4:30 PM, we were speeding back toward Pattaya, sun-kissed and happy. It wasn’t just the beaches that made the day special, it was how relaxed everything felt. No rush, just good energy and beautiful moments.

I’d come to Thailand for adventure, but Koh Larn gave me something different: clarity, calm, and that rare feeling of being exactly where I’m meant to be.

Would I go again? In a heartbeat.
